Newt Hikes

Ages 6- Adult

Join our experienced instructors on a 3-mile round trip hike to learn about California newts as they make their way to winter egg-laying pools deep in the heart of the Briones Regional Park. Along the way, we will observe other wildlife in their natural habitats as we traverse the dewey morning landscape.

BRING: Rain jacket, warm layers, water, and rain boots or waterproof shoes. Hiking poles are recommended.

Price per person: $20 for members/$25 for non-members.

Pre-registration for this hike is required. Registration is cut off 3 days in advance. At this time, we do not offer day-of ticket sales.

Rain is one of the best times to view newts. Please note that hikes will not be canceled due to light to moderate rain.
