Maia Kolbeck

Maia Kolbeck is a life-long nature lover with a deep connection to Lindsay Wildlife.

Because her mother was a volunteer in the wildlife hospital, Maia grew up visiting the museum and participating in its programs, including serving as a summer camp counselor when she was a teenager.

Those early experiences at Lindsay became the foundation of a career educating others about wildlife.

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and a master’s degree in education from UC Santa Cruz, Maia immersed herself in the world of conservation education. She most recently served as Curator of Education and Outreach Services at San Francisco’s Aquarium of the Bay.

She has also worked at elementary schools in Contra Costa and Santa Cruz counties, and volunteered her time to museum and school garden education, and sea turtle conservation work.

In her role as Education Director, Maia leads the education and programming teams while overseeing all of Lindsay’s educational offerings.
