Retired: Acorn Woodpecker
Woodpeckers have feet with two toes up and two toes down, making it easy for them to climb up and down all sorts of trees.
Woody, our Acorn woodpecker, was found injured as a young bird in 1994 in Stockton, California and taken to a wildlife hospital for treatment. Although he eventually healed from his injuries, he became habituated to people and could not be released. He came to Lindsay Wildlife in 1995—that’s 22 years ago, and Woody doesn’t shows his age! Adopt him today!
Adopt Our Acorn Woodpecker!Lindsay Wildlife Experience's Adopt an Animal program lets you symbolically adopt your favorite species and at the same time support our important work of connecting people with wildlife to inspire respect and responsibility for the world we share.
