The Hospital Challenge: Help Us Continue to Save Wildlife
Since COVID-19 struck in early 2020, Lindsay Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital has continued its work and treated over 6,000 injured animals.
We love them all, but every now and then, we get a very special patient. In late October, a caring rescuer brought a Peregrine Falcon to our hospital.
It turns out the falcon is Grinnell, who is a bit of a celebrity. Along with his partner, Annie, he’s a beloved resident of the UC Berkeley Campanile tower and his and Annie’s adventures are followed via livestream by fans all over the world. Grinnell was injured through conflicts with other falcons but was fortunately brought to our hospital for treatment.
Lindsay gave Grinnell loving, expert care, and he was successfully returned to the wild at the Lawrence Hall of Science in Berkeley on Nov. 17. Lead Wildlife Veterinarian Dr. Krystal Woo returned Grinnell as members of the Cal Falcons group watched the Peregrine Falcon spread his wings and take flight.
We are grateful for those who have reached out about Grinnell and who have given Lindsay such kind and generous support.
To help us continue treating incredible animals such as Grinnell and the many other wild creatures caring people bring to the hospital each day, please donate to the Hospital Challenge of the 2021 Reimagine Campaign. This final challenge aims to take us to our final goal of $2 million by December 31, 2021.
Please donate today! Thank you for helping our beloved, wild neighbors!
