After-School: Hands-On Habitat Restoration

Ages: 9 – 12

Description: Discover how nature keeps the world in motion! From the tiniest nutrient loops in the soil to the life cycles of plants and animals, we’ll explore how everything is connected—hands-on and up close. Students will raise rainbow trout right in the classroom and release them into Lafayette Reservoir on a special field trip. Guided by our experienced educators, participants dive into science through questions, discussion, and encounters with live animals. Working in small groups, they’ll explore natural cycles at their own pace while uncovering the fascinating patterns that keep ecosystems alive.

Classes are small with no more than 10 students in each class. This after school program takes place on Mondays, from 4:00 p.m.–5:30 p.m. and includes 5 engaging classes plus a field trip.

• Monday, February 23rd, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Monday, March 2nd, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Monday, March 9th, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Monday, March 16th, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Monday, March 23rd, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• (Off-Site Field Trip) Monday, March 30th, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Price per class: $40 member/$50 non-member

Price for full series: $200 member/ $250 non-member

Time: 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Please note: Pre-registration for this program is required. Registration is cut off on the Wednesday before the progam. At this time, we do not offer day-of ticket sales. This is a drop-off program that takes place outside of standard operating hours.
