Join the Lindsay Wildlife Experience each week this fall for an in-depth exploration of the natural world. Our education specialists will share their experiences with your little ones each week through fun experiments and outdoor explorations. Enroll for individual workshops or enroll for the full series of all four and save.

These workshops are appropriate for 3rd to 5th graders. Each workshop will be held partially or fully indoors depending on weather.

Individual workshops:

  • Eggs*: Mondays, October 25th and November 1st, 5 – 6 pm. Fee: $70 / $60 members
  • Teeth: Monday, November 8th, 5 – 6 pm. Fee: $35 / $30 members
  • Micro: Monday, November 15th, 5 – 6 pm. Fee: $35 / $30 members
  • Worms*: Mondays, November 22nd and November 29th, 5 – 6 pm. Fee: $70 / $60 members
  • Full Series: Mondays, October 25th to November 29th. Fee: $190 / $165 members

 

* This is a two-session workshop. Attendance is necessary on both dates.

We take safety seriously and all participants, including our instructors, MUST wear a properly-fitting face mask.

Lindsay Wildlife Experience requires all guests age 12 and over to present proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative test result before entering our Exhibit Hall and Wildlife Rehabilitation Hospital. Please click here for more information.

Date

  • Eggs
    This is a two session workshop. Attendance is necessary on both dates. Eggs are amazing. Learn about all the different types of animals that lay eggs: insects, arachnids, fish, birds and more. Eggs seem like the perfect little protection for tiny baby animals but humans are having a big impact on the future of eggs: we will do some experiments to determine how pollution affects eggs in the wild.

  • Teeth
    Chomp into teeth! Teeth are very different from animal to animal and we’ll explore a wide array of dental diversity. Learn about various animal diets and how their teeth facilitate those diets. We will study the composition of teeth with a class experiment.

  • Micro
    Welcome to the microscopic world of living things. Here we will learn there is an entire ecosystem with animals, plants, fungi and even smaller organisms hiding right in front of our noses. We will explore the pond world and do some experiments to understand how even small human actions can have a huge impact on these unseen worlds.

  • Worms
    This is a two session workshop. Attendance is necessary on both dates. Come learn about writhing wriggling worms. Worms live everywhere on planet earth: arctic tundra, deep in the ocean, under plants and inside other animals. We will do some simple soil science and a classroom study on the impact of invasive worms.
