Date

  • Eggs
    Monday, October 25, 2021
    5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
    - This is a two session workshop. Attendance is necessary on both dates. Eggs are amazing. Learn about all the different types of animals that lay eggs: insects, arachnids, fish, birds and more. Eggs seem like the perfect little protection for tiny baby animals but humans are having a big impact on the future of eggs: we will do some experiments to determine how pollution affects eggs in the wild.
  • Teeth
    Monday, November 8, 2021
    5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
    - Chomp into teeth! Teeth are very different from animal to animal and we’ll explore a wide array of dental diversity. Learn about various animal diets and how their teeth facilitate those diets. We will study the composition of teeth with a class experiment.
  • Micro
    Monday, November 15, 2021
    5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
    - Welcome to the microscopic world of living things. Here we will learn there is an entire ecosystem with animals, plants, fungi and even smaller organisms hiding right in front of our noses. We will explore the pond world and do some experiments to understand how even small human actions can have a huge impact on these unseen worlds.
  • Worms
    Monday, November 22, 2021
    5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
    - This is a two session workshop. Attendance is necessary on both dates. Come learn about writhing wriggling worms. Worms live everywhere on planet earth: arctic tundra, deep in the ocean, under plants and inside other animals. We will do some simple soil science and a classroom study on the impact of invasive worms.
