Solar Eclipse Viewing at Larkey Park
Come enjoy the eclipse on Aug. 21 in beautiful Larkey Park with volunteers from the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society! A solar eclipse occurs when the moon blocks the path of the sun’s rays to Earth. MDA will have a table with information, telescopes with solar filters and astronomy folks ready to answer your questions.
The Great American Total Solar Eclipse will darken skies all the way from Oregon to South Carolina, along a stretch of land about 70 miles wide! This is the first solar eclipse in the Lower 48 states since 1979.
No registration necessary, just come and enjoy this monuments moment!
