Scorpion & Tarantula Hikes Fall 2022
Ages 6–Adult
Explore the habitat of local scorpions and tarantulas along the north face of Mount Diablo, starting at the Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center. Experience the excitement of finding scorpions glowing like green neon signs in the dark. Explore the habitat of local tarantulas along the north face of Mount Diablo with an experienced naturalist. These eight-legged, carnivorous but docile creatures come out of hiding in search of mates. Discover and observe the diverse plants and animals inhabiting Mount Diablo. Hikes cover a distance of 2 miles.
Details: Bring hiking shoes, bottled water, and masks are highly encouraged.

Price per person: $20 for members/$25 for non-members.
Additional cost: $6 parking at the Visitor’s Center.
