Come Meet Handsome Bill at Lindsay!

Come meet Handsome Bill! Now on exhibit at Lindsay Wildlife are Carole Petersen Dwinell’s pencil sketches that brought the animals to life in the beautifully written children’s story Handsome Bill: 07 mouseon wheelAdventures in the Desert.

Featured in Lindsay’s upstairs Buckeye Room are the drawings from the popular book written by Author Edith Nettleton, a former 10-year docent at Lindsay.

Dwinell’s artwork will be on display through Jan. 3.

These accurate and artful pencil drawings capture the desert creatures that Handsome Bill, the house mouse, encounters when he is invited to come visit his friend’s unusual home in the desert. From rattlesnakes, flash floods to a turkey vulture, Handsome Bill encounters a lot on his educational adventure. Along with the sketches are print out versions of the books for families to read as they gaze at the art on the walls. 07 mvulture opens wings

The book is available for purchase in the Lindsay store–and some are autographed!

Get a chance to meet the artist 10:30 a.m. Dec. 21, 22 and 23 in the Buckeye Room for a special story telling and craft time featuring Dwinell. She will share the story with children and lead a drawing class to all who want to participate.
