Conservation Icons: Dive to Great White Sharks at Lesher Center

Join us for the third inspiring installment of Lindsay’s inaugural Conservation Icons speaker series with Dr. John McCosker, Emeritus Chair of the Department of Aquatic Biology at the California Academy of Sciences, Saturday Jan. 6, 6 p.m., at Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek.

McCosker will give a riveting talk on shark conservation; threats to their populations; reasons for hope; and what we all can do to help preserve the future of marine life and healthy ocean ecosystems.

The world’s foremost expert on great white sharks is the co-author of Great White Shark (coauthored with Richard Ellis) and has been a consistent presence in ocean/fish/shark-related documentaries produced by the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, BBC and Nova, including an IMAX film on the Galápagos.
