Lindsay Sunday Summer Speaker Series: Nature Speak
Come to Lindsay on Sundays at 2 p.m. to learn about the great outdoors with Lindsay’s summer speaker series: Nature Speak! (Schedule below). Lindsay is encouraging everyone to “Get Outside” this summer and we want to inspire you to do just that with this exciting line-up of speakers!
The series will begin June 11 with Richard Neidhardt, a member of the condor team at Pinnacles National Park and the board chair for the Pinnacles Condor Fund at Pinnacles Partnership, will talk about the history and current status of the California Condor.
Sunday, June 25: Be a part of the Get Outside with Citizen Science workshop with iNaturalist to learn how to download and use their app.
Sunday, July 9: Join the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for a Solar Viewing. Specially-filtered telescopes allow viewers to see all the glorious details on the Sun’s surface. You’ll be able to make out sunspots, filaments, flares and prominences.
Sunday, Sept. 10: Dr. Linda Riebel, an author, advocate for wildlife, and psychologist, will deliver her presentation, “Improving Your Ecological FOODprint.” You will learn five easy-to-follow guidelines for lightening your food footprint.
Sunday, Aug. 6: Join Carolyn Balling for Go Take a Hike! Linda will share her extensive knowledge of hiking opportunities in our wonderful state, including those in our very own backyard! Learn how to prepare for safe, successful hikes in your local area.
No registration is required for the speakers series, just come and learn!
Cost: Free to members and included with the price of admission for the general public.
