Hospital update–week of June 10

The hospital received 262 animals last week, bringing the total for this year to 2835.

Three of the patients were pre-fledgling white-tailed kites that fell a great distance when their nest tree was trimmed. Two of them have wing injuries–fractures and swelling; all three have bruising. Please do not trim trees until after nesting season. The safest time to prune is October through December.
