Hospital update–week of November 25
The hospital received 38 animals last week, bringing the total to 5336 for this year.
Eight of the patients were birds that suffered trauma after hitting windows. If birds repeatedly hit specific windows in your home, cover those windows with netting or hang Mylar ribbon strips every 6 inches. Both techniques will make the window more obvious and should prevent further injuries and death. Covering the window on the inside won’t make a difference—it’s usually the reflection of the glass that confuses birds.
