Hospital update–week of September 16
The hospital received 67 animals last week, bringing the total for this year to 4892.
Several birds were brought in because they had flown into windows. Birds fly into windows because they don’t see the glass as being solid, but see the reflection of trees and sky behind them. If birds regularly hit a particular window in your house, cover the window with netting or string Mylar tape at about 6″ intervals to prevent further strikes. If a bird hits your window and doesn’t immediately fly off, pick it up, place it in a paper grocery bag and bring it to the hospital as soon as possible.
