Weekly hospital update – Week of November 21

The hospital received 36 animals last week, bringing the total for this year to 5108.

Two of the animals came to us after being entangled in our garbage. A glaucous-winged gull swallowed a fishhook and came in with the monofilament hanging out its mouth. A northern mockingbird came in with green plastic twine wrapped around its body and leg. Prevent injuries to wildlife–keep our environment free of litter. Make a point of noticing trash in your neighborhood and then disposing of it properly.
