Wetlands School Programs

Attention, Contra Costa County school teachers! The Mt. View Sanitary District has partnered with Lindsay Wildlife Experience to offer free wetlands programming for students in grades 3- 5. The two programs are described below, and your class can participate in both!

We Come to You!

Book your free, in-class, one-hour interactive lesson with one of Lindsay’s trained wetlands specialists. Lessons are available Tuesday through Thursday from September 2022 through January 2023. Choose from the following:

  • Craft a Wetland Critter
  • Water Quality for Life
  • Wetland Wonders

Visit the Wetlands!

Come hike the Mt. View Sanitary District wetlands during this free field trip. These experiences are available Tuesday through Thursday, from September January through May 2023. Activities include:

  • Four-hour tour of facility and wetlands
  • Scientific sampling stations
  • Wildlife watching

Both options are aligned with California’s Science Content Standards and include educational materials and guidelines for student writing exercises.
