Newt Hikes

Ages: 6 years old – Adult
It’s a California newt migration! Join our experienced instructors on a 3-mile round trip hike to learn about California newts as they make their way to winter egg-laying pools deep in the heart of the Briones Regional Park. Along the way, we will observe other wildlife in their natural habitats as we traverse the moist morning landscape.
Dates and Times:
- Saturday, January 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Sunday, January 11th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Saturday, January 17th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Sunday, January 18th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Saturday, January 24th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Sunday, January 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Saturday, January 31st, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Sunday, February 1st, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m
Price per Person: $20 for members/$25 for non-members.
Bring: A rain jacket, warm layers, water, and rain boots or waterproof shoes. Hiking poles are recommended.
Please Note: Pre-registration for this hike is required. Registration closes 3 days in advance. At this time, we do not offer day-of ticket sales. Rain is one of the best times to view newts, hikes will not be canceled due to light to moderate rain.
