Fall Neon Scorpion Hikes

Ages: 6 and up

Description: 

Explore the habitat of local scorpions along the north face of Mount Diablo, starting at the Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center. Experience the excitement of finding scorpions glowing like green neon signs in the dark. Led by our experienced naturalist, participants will look for local scorpions as these eight-legged creatures explore their nighttime world. Hikes cover a distance of 2 miles.

• Saturday, September 5th, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – SOLD OUT
• Sunday, September 6th, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. – SOLD OUT
• Saturday, September 12th, 6:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. – 1 spot left!
• Sunday, September 13th, 6:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. – 1 spot left!

Bring: Hiking shoes, a bottle of water, and a jacket. An ultraviolet flashlight is optional.

Price per person: $20 for members/$25 for non-members.

Additional cost: $6 parking at the Visitor’s Center (exact change required).

Please note: Pre-registration for this hike is required for each member of your party. Price is per individual, not per group. Registration is cut off the Wednesday before the program, we do not offer day-of ticket sales for hikes.
