Conservation Icons: Dr. John McCosker, Great White Sharks

Learn about great white sharks from the man who literally wrote the book on them: Dr. John McCosker! McCosker, the Emeritus Chair of the Department of Aquatic Biology at the California Academy of Sciences, will come to Walnut Creek 6 p.m. Saturday Jan. 6 as part of Conservation Icons.

McCosker will present on the threats to sharks and what we all can do to help preserve the future of marine life and the oceans.

The legendary expert on all things sharks is the co-author of Great White Shark (coauthored with Richard Ellis) and has been a consistent presence in ocean/fish/shark-related documentaries produced by the Discovery Channel, BBC and Nova, including an IMAX film on the Galápagos.

McCosker is one of nine awe-inspiring speakers that are part of the 2017-18 Conservation Icons series that aims to educate, entertain and inspire change!
