Microclimates of Mt. Diablo Hike

Ages: 6 – Adult

San Francisco is known in some circles as the microclimate capital of the world, but microclimates can be found all over California because of its varying topography and coastal conditions. Join us on a mild hike on Mt. Diablo’s Juniper Trail, to encounter three different microclimates within a one-mile stretch! Learn about the environmental conditions that create these microclimates and the incredible biodiversity held within them.

Dates and times:

• Sunday, March 19th, 10am-noon
• Sunday, April 23rd, 10am-noon

BRING hiking shoes, bottled water, and an optional face mask. 

Price per person: $20 for members/$25 for non-members.

Additional cost: $10 per vehicle at Mt. Diablo Main Entrance

Details: Participants meet at the Diablo Valley Overlook, on Summit Road, (just before the Juniper Trail Campground) in Walnut Creek, CA 94598.
