Summer Neon Scorpion Hikes

Age: 6 years old – Adult

Get ready for an exciting hike as you search the north face of Mount Diablo for local scorpions! Meet at the Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center and prepare to be amazed as you spot these glowing critters in the darkness, almost like green neon signs. While you’re at it, take in the amazing views and be on the lookout for other fascinating plants and animals that call Mount Diablo home. On this 2-mile hike, there’s plenty to discover and observe on this fun-filled excursion.

Dates and Times:

• Saturday, August 29, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
• Sunday, August 30, 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Bring: Hiking shoes and water. An ultraviolet flashlight is optional.

Price per Person: $20 for members/$25 for non-members

Additional Cost: $6 parking at the Visitor’s Center

Please Note: Pre-registration for this hike is required. Registration cuts off on Wednesday, August 26th. We do not offer day-of ticket sales for hikes.
