Wild Science: Experimenting with Adaptations
Workshop: Ages 7-12
Explore some wild adaptations that animals have evolved, from a woodpecker’s tongue wrapping all the way around its skull for extra cushioning, to webbed feet that prevent an animal from sinking into wet sand and mud. With the help of a live animal ambassador, we will study these adaptations in action and learn about the science behind them. Then, we will carry out some exciting experiments that will illustrate and test the concepts behind some of nature’s coolest adaptations.
Date: Sunday, February 19, from 2 – 3:30 p.m.
Fee: $40 member/ $50 non-member
Please note: Pre-registration for this class is required. Registration is cut off 3 days in advance. At this time, we do not offer day-off ticket sales. This is a drop-off workshop.
