Neon Scorpion Hikes 2021

Age 6–Adult

Explore the habitat of local scorpions along the north face of Mount Diablo, starting at the Mitchell Canyon Visitor Center. Experience the excitement of finding scorpions glowing like green neon signs in the dark. Discover and observe the diverse plants and animals inhabiting Mount Diablo. Hikes cover a distance of 2 miles.

Dates and times:

• August 1st, 7:30-9:30 pm
• August 15th, 7:15-9:15 pm
• August 29th, 7:00-9:00 pm
• September 12th, 6:45-8:45 pm

BRING hiking shoes, bottled water, and a face mask. An ultraviolet flashlight is optional.

Price per person: $15 for members/$20 for non-members.

Additional cost: $6 parking at the Visitor’s Center.

To comply with social distancing regulations, groups will be smaller this year and face masks must be worn during the entire duration of the hike.
