Welcome to the Lindsay Wildlife Experience volunteer program. Volunteers are critical to the important work we do here. Whether helping rehabilitate injured wildlife, working with the animal ambassador care team, educating school children and visitors, or supporting guest services or development events, your commitment helps us accomplish our mission and broaden our reach into the community.
Experience is not required, only the passion to help connect people with wildlife and the willingness to learn the skills associated with your role. We provide all of the necessary training for you to learn new things and gain the skills needed for success. Some of your training will come before you begin your shift, and some will be ‘on-the-job’ training. There is a one-time onboarding fee of $25, which helps support staff time and resources associated with orientation and training. Volunteers will also receive a Lindsay polo shirt (required for volunteer activities that include public interaction) or a Lindsay apron (used for behind-the-scenes animal care.)
You may pay your onboarding fee at the bottom of this page. Remember, you must be a member of Lindsay Wildlife Experience to be a volunteer. If you have not already done so, please click here to purchase a membership. You’ll need your membership number to register for volunteer training.
Your volunteer manager will be notified when your onboarding fee is paid, and will then complete your paperwork and begin coordinating your training.
Welcome aboard – we hope you have a rewarding experience!
