Hear about the inspirational work of Dr. Laurie Marker, a world renowned cheetah expert, and founder and executive director of the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia. Marker is coming to Lindsay, Sunday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. to speak about her efforts to protect these threatened cats.

Considered a leading authority on these graceful, intelligent felines, Dr. Marker has been studying cheetahs for more than 30 years. In addition to setting up the first successful captive cheetah breeding program in the United States, Marker is leading conservation efforts in Namibia, where she founded the Cheetah Conservation Fund in 1991. She also promotes sustainable farming and the integration of non-lethal wildlife and ecosystem management. Don’t miss this special talk!

Dr. Marker is one of eight speakers in Lindsay’s 2019-2020 Conservation Icons speaker series. Now in its third year, the series aims to educate, entertain, inspire change and foster respect for the planet we share.
